The Remarkables Ski Area

The Remarkables is a 45-minute drive from Queenstown’s CBD. It boasts a great learners’ area which is perfect for beginners and first timers of all ages. There is over 385ha of terrain to explore across four chairlifts and four conveyor lifts with ample car parking on the mountain and a bus service that runs from town. The Remarkables boasts modern facilities including a café, restaurant, and two bars. Full equipment hire is available on the mountain and there’s also an on-mountain snow shop to buy anything you may have forgotten.


Coronet Peak

Coronet Peak was the first commercial ski field to open in New Zealand back in 1947 and is situated a 25-minute drive from Queenstown’s CBD. The varied terrain accommodates all abilities from learners right through to seasoned experts. With three chairlifts, one T-Bar, four surface lifts and 280ha of terrain, Coronet Peak is known for its wide-open slopes and is the home of night skiing. There’s also a gondola and sightseeing options for those who don’t want to ski or board.

Like the Remarkables, Coronet Peak has a range of cafes, restaurants, and a full rental department for all your needs on the mountain, Coronet Peak also hosts an array of events throughout the winter season from music acts and kids’ days out to the iconic Meadow Fresh Dog Derby, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.


Cardrona Alpine Resort

Cardrona Alpine Resort is home to the Southern Hemisphere’s most extensive terrain parks, half pipes and wide open groomed runs. With a Base Area Elevation of 1670m and 465 hectares of terrain on offer, it’s no surprise that it’s a seriously popular ski area.

With eight food and beverage establishments to choose from alongside a fully licensed early childcare centre, it’s well suited to families of all ages. Other amenities include on-mountain accommodation, Cardrona General Store, rentals department, workshop and adaptive rental equipment.


Treble Cone

Treble Cone is the largest ski field in the South Island, situated 35 minutes from Wānaka and 90 minutes drive from Queenstown. Treble Cone is famous for its off-piste terrain and 700m of vertical, which is the longest of all ski fields in the Southern-Lakes District. Treble Cone is popular amongst advanced and expert riders for its steep and challenging terrain, with plenty of natural half pipes to play with. The longest run is 4km and the ski field has a summit elevation of 2088 metres.

Treble Cone also boasts a learner’s area which runs alongside the lodge and café and an on-site rental shop for all your needs. There’s something for everyone in the family and transport options run from Wānaka and Queenstown throughout the winter season.
